nfl colts

My NFL Colts obsession began my sophomore year of high school. I was given the brilliant nickname, “Colts Fanatic” after I started obsessively tracking their stats and taking every opportunity to talk about the team. I could hardly contain my excitement each time the Colts would win a game, screaming with joy, and in a way that alerted the neighborhood of my Colts enthusiasm. My family and I would travel to Indiana for weekend games, and I’d leave all my cares behind in the moment of pure jubilation when I entered Lucas Oil Stadium.

When it came time for the playoffs, my whole world seemed to focus on the Colts. I’d watch every game, cheering for each snap of the ball or interception, elated at every first down. My poor parents grew tired of my nonstop cheering in the living room, but when the Colts made it to the Super Bowl, no one could ever hear me above the cheering in the stadium. We skipped out of school and made the trip, the atmosphere surrounding us electric with excitement, and my dreams finally coming true as I watched my team go from last place to Super Bowl champions.

I know that every NFL loyalist knows what I’m talking about when it comes to the Colts, that fanatical obsession that can’t be explained, yet never forgotten. I’ve developed a special connection to the team, a connection that seems to be more than mutual. Whether they aren’t at the peak of their season or are soaring with wins, I’ve grown to love the Colts through all their highs and their lows.

The team’s mottos says it all, “We Build Champions”, which is why each and every fan can take pride in their team, from the artists to the athletes who come together to build and cultivate their success. Whether it’s the grind from the pre-season to the regular season, their ability to come back from a loss, their unity and relentless team work, there is never a dull moment when it comes to the Colts.

When the Colts won the Super Bowl, the entire city of Indianapolis was abuzz. Stores opened earlier to unveil new merchandise for the win, and every city block was painted in blue and white. Even the stadium was lit with blue and white lights, illuminating the entire area as lovers of the team celebrated their success and new championship. I remember being filled with pride for the Colts, who despite the negative remarks and criticism, fought for their victory.

I have found myself walking around with a Colts shirt, attending all of their games, and obsessing over my favorite players. I take joy in seeing the Colts take the lead in the standings, motivating me to prioritize my own goals, in the same way they worked to score their own victory. The team has encouraged me to stay focused and dedicated to what I want to achieve, and I take immense pride in that.
