I’ve been a fan of NFL for a few years now. When I hear someone talking about free tickets to a game, I always perk up my ears. So, here’s what I know about NFL players and free tickets to games. “Do NFL players get free tickets to games?” Hmm, let me think about this one...
Well, yes they do. But it’s not the same as it would be for regular fans. NFL players do get free tickets to the games that their team plays, but they don’t get those tickets the same way most other fans do. NFL players get free tickets to games as part of their job, negotiated between themselves and their teams. This means that these tickets are usually taken out of the total allowance that a team can give out tickets to the public. So, you could say that in a sense, NFL players do — get free tickets to games — but they are taking them away from what otherwise would be available to regular fans.
The NFL rules do allow, however, for players to get a small number of free tickets to the games. For example, most teams allow a players to have relatives be given tickets, allowing them to have some family members in attendance during the game. Some teams also have special perks for players such as for example allowing them to have some additional tickets to give away for free.
Personally, I think it’s a great thing that NFL players get free tickets to the games they play. After all, it’s part of their job and they should be able to have some friends and family around at least for a game or two during the season. I mean, it’s like they’re investing their blood, sweat, and tears into a team and I think that they should certainly deserve this perk at the very least.
On the other hand, I can also understand arguments against them having too many freebies. It would definitely diminish the number of tickets sold as regular fans cannot afford them and can’t get them. Thus, I can see why the NFL would want to place a limit on how much free tickets they can have and where they can be distributed.
I don’t think that NFL players getting a few free tickets to games should be considered unfair or anything. It doesn’t really affect the regular fans since the tickets that they get don’t really come out of the number that would otherwise go to fans in the general market. Overall, they should be allowed to have a few free tickets — for their own sanity as they’re away from their family for a lot of the season.
Something that is really interesting to me is the fact that some players end up giving away their free tickets to others, or even selling them for a discounted price. So, although they technically do get free tickets, in a lot of cases it’s not really a “free” experience for them. They usually do it out of the goodwill of their hearts and it also often helps with team morale, as the players get to enjoy the game with their loved ones.
I think that, in general, it’s great that NFL players get some free tickets to the games they play. After all, it not only helps with team morale but it also gives the players a chance to have some of their family and friends in the crowd for morale and support. It really goes a long way for their well-being and overall satisfaction with their work. And, of course, it’s always a great thing to have some free tickets to a game every once in a while.
