Wow, have you heard of the Women of the NFL? It’s like, the most inspiring and crazy accomplishment I’ve ever seen!
I remember watching the first woman proprietor of a NFL team, Sheila Ford Hamp, be welcomed into the club of wealthy men and being utterly overwhelmed. She was the daughter of William Clay Ford Sr., and had been the executive vice president of the Detroit Lions back in 2018. Seeing a woman take hold of that much power, going up against skeptical and mistrusting males was just breathtaking.
But it didn’t end with just her. We have seen many powerful women standing up to the NFL elite in the last few years, and it just keeps getting better. There’s no doubt that these female leaders have broken through a lot of barriers and are paving the way for more women to enter the sports world.
It’s no secret that the NFL is still a male dominated landscape, but these women are showing that it’s a space that should be open to all genders. After all, if we’re going to see true diversity across the league, then women should definitely be able to hold positions of power and influence.
It’s really amazing to see the way these women have been able to rise up, challenge the existing power dynamic and make their voices heard. They are setting an example for the rest of us to follow, and showing that hard work and dedication really can pay off.
It’s also clear that these women are passionate about making a positive impact and paving the way for others who would like to enter the NFL. Seeing their determination, strength and courage in the face of adversity is truly inspirational.
What’s even more amazing is that these women are having a lasting impact. They are demanding more accountability from the NFL, pushing for more transparency, and most importantly, working to ensure that everyone has a chance to make it.
It’s no wonder that these formidable women are showing the world that the NFL is a place for everyone. Watching and supporting them is such a privilege and I’m excited to see what they will accomplish next!
