Recently deciding to break out and become part of the 2021 NFL Draft, former University of South Carolina quarterback Shedeur Sanders is beginning to turn heads of many NFL scouts and football analysts alike.
I had the pleasure of getting to know Shedeur during our college years, and I must admit I’m not all that surprised to see Sheduer considered to be an NFL prospect. But seeing the mammoth amount of support he’s already stirring up definitely has me shook.
What’s been so impressive about Shedeur is his pleasant attitude on and off the field. Whenever I’d see him, he’d be greeting me with a smile. In addition to his positive aura, you could always count on Shedeur to bring the energy whenever it was needed.
He was always so in tune with what was going on in the locker room and on the field! I really loved how whenever there was a lull in the atmosphere, Sheduer would know exactly which jokes (clean or otherwise) to break out to get a chuckle out of the group.
This was definitely a guy who you wanted on or off the field. Just based off of his infectious personality, Shedeur could be seen as an invaluable asset to any team who would be lucky enough to snag him in the upcoming draft.
But what really cements Shedeur Sanders as an NFL prospect in my mind is his impressive physical performance, both on the field and in the weight room. During our college years together, Shedeur seemed to have the uncanny ability to pull out the most intense performances when his team needed him the most. With a live arm, elite footwork, and physical strength that few could match, Shedeur was like a terminator on the field and made almost every defensive coach on our schedule having nightmares.
That same physical prowess was even more evident in the weight room. Off-season workouts are essential in mostNFLVisit Draft teams’ prep schedule, and Shedeur was always in the front of the pack. He was constantly setting new personal records and being an example of dedication to his team.
Given all of these factors, it’s definitely no surprise that Shedeur Sanders has been considered to be an NFL prospect. I’m excited to see how far he goes come draft day, and my bet is that he’s going to absolutely dominate the competition, as per usual.
Speaking of performances, Shedeur’s 2018bowl game left me and my colleagues speechless. We had to watch the game twice to make sure we didn’t miss anything. His ability to command the offense, his reads, his accuracy, the pocket presence, all these were absolutely mesmerizing. His performance concluded with a comeback victory, a 2 minutes and 20 seconds scoring drive.
Adding on, Shedeur’s 1st-team all-SEC affiliate team for two consecutive seasons is a true testament to his individual performance and talent. His presence as a leader was also highly appreciated by his teammates who stood by him through the tough times. He was able to bring out the best in his fellow players and was cited numerous times for his contribution to the team.
Now if you ask me, deep down there’s no doubt in my mind that Shedeur Sanders is an NFL prospect. He’s confidently carving up a path to the draft and I can’t help but support him from the sidelines with cheers and encouragement.
Regardless of what happens from here on out, these college years with Shedeur will be some of the best, most cherished memories of my life. He was truly a role model, a friend, and an inspiration both on and off the field.
Shedeur’s dedication and sheer willpower continuously pushed him forward in every situation he faced. From summer workouts, classes and practices, to weekly weapon drills or receiving drills, Shedeur always had the same laser-like focus and ambition.
Though it’s easy for academics, athletes and coaches to get weighed down from the strenuous hours and daunting challenges, Shedeur never backed down. He was always there with a support system, helping his teammates and pushing his peers to do their absolute best, no matter the circumstance. I can’t think of any other athlete that embodied resilience as much as Sanders.
Eventually, all this grit and determination allowed Shedeur to earn his way onto the depth chart and even start three games in his freshman year. This served as just the beginning of his long list of successes as Sanders was fully developed into a five-star quarterback.
His throwing and passing skills definitely earned him the right to be considered an NFL prospect. Everything about Shedeur shows that he has the potential to become a great NFL quarterback, and I look forward to seeing him on the league’s biggest stage.
