Being an NFL fan, I know one big part of the game is the cheerleaders. It is hard to watch a game on Sunday without seeing them and all their breathtakingness. I’m sure NFL games wouldn’t be the same without them.
Despite the love for the NFL, many athletes and sports fans have mixed opinions on the cheerleaders. Some say that cheerleaders add a special spirit and energy to the game. Others argue that they are just eye candy meant to draw in a crowd. So, the question remains does the NFL really need cheerleaders?
I’m definitely in the camp that going to an NFL game would be less enjoyable if there were no cheerleaders. The cheerleaders spark enthusiasm and excitement in the crowd. After all, they are dressed brightly and dancing energetically to get us to yell and scream for the team.
My observation is that some teams have cheerleaders, while others don’t. I can only assume that each team makes its own decision whether or not to have cheerleaders. It’s as if each team has unique reasons to either have or not have them-reasons such as budget or fan demographics.
It’s also interesting to note how cheerleaders’ uniforms get more and more glamorous as the years go by. While in the past, they wore more modest suits, nowadays, they wear more revealing outfits, with skirts getting shorter and necklines plunging lower.
I believe that whatever the case, NFL teams should keep cheerleaders as part of the entertainment of their games. Who doesn’t love a good show of female energy? And these enjoyable aspects should not be taken away or drastically changed. So yes, the NFL should have cheerleaders—not only for tradition but for the sake of making the game more fun to watch.
Of course, these opportunities come with risks. Cheerleader’s iconic dances require them to practice hard and show physical strength. And I heard horror stories of them being told to lose weight or change hairstyles by their coaches. But if their teams would just focus on the right things, then they should be fine.
Another important reason why I believe that NFL teams should have cheerleaders is that these women need to be seen and adored. By showcasing talent, enthusiasm, and dance moves, they can inspire more women and girls to be confident in their own abilities and looks.
Perhaps the best way for cheerleaders to be recognized is for their teams to showcase them more in their social media pages. By doing so, teams can emphasize the positive and beautiful aspects of football cheerleaders, not just their provocative attire.
Plus, I think the whole experience will be even radianter if more teams put on auditions and promote cheerleading as an official sport. That way, the cheerleaders of NFL can gain more respect both from fans and players.
Having a good standard of behaviour is essential. A cheerleader must show good sportsmanship in addition to being a mentor to young athletes. We need cheerleaders to act as role models for the next generation, so that their impact lives on.
Additionally, I think NFL teams can use cheerleader appearance to create new levels of intrigue; They could even put on fashion tailored shows that are family friendly. Putting on these sorts of activities can help fans feel more engaged with their teams.
Thus, NFL teams have a great opportunity to exploit the power of cheerleaders in a positive way. These women can make football games more exciting, more inclusive and way more interesting. And most of all, by allowing cheerleaders to share their talent with the world, everybody comes a little bit closer.
