My buddies and I love our Football Fantasy League and drafting a team each season is always so much fun! Now, in its simplest form, fantasy sports are games where participants assemble virtual teams made up of real players from different professional sports leagues and competing against other owners. So how do you go about picking an auto draft NFL Fantasy team?
First of all, you need to understand the basics of Fantasy Football. Basically, you have a roster of players at each position that is completed with head to head matchups. You can also add and drop players during the season as needed. So, it’s important to know how the scoring system works and what type of player is best for your team.
Then you need to decide what kind of draft strategy you want to employ. There are many strategies to pick from such as Live Draft, Free Agent, and Snake Draft. Live Drafts are the most popular and are held on a predetermined night with individual owners selecting in alternate turns. On the other hand, Free Agent drafts allow owners to fill out their team with players from an online source at any time. Lastly, Snake Drafts are similar to Live Drafts but the order starts at one end of the draft and snakes back on itself.
When it comes to auto drafts, you’ll want to make sure you know which players you prefer before the draft starts. That’s why I always take time to review the player rankings and specifics of each team in the league. I’ll even go as far as to create a rankings spreadsheet to sort according to how I value each player. This way, I can compare my list of players to those of other owners in the league.
Next, I’ll prepare my auto draft rankings by making sure to include the top players in each position, while also considering who I expect to be left in the draft at each pick. This helps set me up for a successful auto draft, as it reduces the guesswork and minimizes the time it takes for me to make a pick.
Finally, I’ll get an up to date copy of the league settings, rules and scoring systems to help me better prepare for the draft. This will help ensure I’m selecting the right players for the right positions and that I feel confident about my picks.
Now that I’m ready to go, I let the Auto-Draft kick into gear and watch my team come together. There are always some surprises and fun moments during the draft process, and Auto-Draft helps me keep up with the pace of the league. If I’m lucky, I’ll end up with a great team that I can manage through the season!
