I was super stoked when my boy Don Barclay participated in the NFL combine! You remember Don. At 280-pounds he was one of the biggest guys on our high school football team. Let me tell you everything I know about his combine experience.
First things first, he looked really good out there. He was one of the smallest defensive ends, and yet the scouts and coaches said he looked like one of the best. He had a lot of power with his pass and rush moves and held his own against the big fellas. There was a lot of buzz about him after his performance.
Next, his agility was incredible. He was quick on his feet and was able to locate opposing players in the open field. Not only that, but he also executed some spectacular moves to avoid being blocked. He showed a lot of composure and awareness of the situation.
Then there was his accuracy. He had a great pitch count and was able to lead his team during his drills. His throwing motions looked natural and he exhibited his best skills. It was awesome to see him demonstrating his potential with his arm.
Additionally, his speed was remarkable. He ran with poise and his stride was graceful. He was able to make sharp turns and accelerate to the hole.
Finally, his mental aptitude was solid. He answered the coaches’ questions in an expansive and knowledgeable manner. He was very devoted to the team and seemed to have some good leadership qualities.
So overall, the Combine was a success for Don. I think he’s definitely prepared to have a shot at the draft. It’s gonna be an awesome moment when he hears his name called out!
