nfl football records

I love football – and especially the NFL. The records and stories behind some the incredible plays in the NFL are absolutely incredible. It’s amazing how much talent has been documented in the NFL over the years.

Growing up, I was a big fan of the NFL. I would spend hours watching games and researching stats. I remember my dad telling me stories about some of the greatest plays in the NFL history. It’s amazing how many records still exist today.

My favorite record of all time is the single-season passing yardage record held by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. In 2007, he threw for 4,806 yards. That’s absolutely crazy!

I’m also a big fan of the record held by Buffalo Bills running back O.J. Simpson for most rushing yards in a single season, set in the 1973 season. Simpson rushed for 2,003 yards that year. That’s a classic record that still stands today.

The one record that I really wish would be broken is the record set by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana for most consecutive starts by a quarterback. Montana started 122 straight games from 1981–1990. That’s an unbelievable feat and it would be really cool to see it broken.

Another record that I’m really fond of is the single-season touchdown passing record held by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In 2011, Rodgers threw for 45 touchdowns. It was an absolutely phenomenal season for Rodgers and the record still stands today.

I also love the record held by the Miami Dolphins for most consecutive winning seasons, set from 1971 to 1994. This is an amazing accomplishment and it really speaks to the talent and dedication of the Dolphins players and coaches during that time.

The NFL is full of incredible stories and records. I could talk about them all day, but I’m always most impressed by the ones that are most difficult to break. These are the ones that really define greatness in the NFL.
