I’m a HUGE NFL Fan. Growing up, my dad was a huge fan of football and every Sunday was dedicated to the game. Every year, he would get me an NFL jersey and a few footballs for Christmas. Needless to say, I am a die hard NFL fan. Football is my true passion and I just can’t get enough.
That’s why I was super stoked when I learned about the NFL Fan Map. It’s about the most amazing thing ever! Basically, the NFL Fan Map is an interactive map that shows the state of the NFL fan base. Each state is color-coded according to the percentage of fans in that state who support each team. It’s really cool to get a sense of where your team stands in terms of popularity among other teams in the league.
For example, in my home state of Pennsylvania, the Steelers are the most popular team according to the fan map. They command an impressive 59% fan base. This isn’t too surprising since the Steelers have a legendary fanbase that stretches worldwide. The Eagles come in at second place with 19%, followed by the Cowboys at 10%. It’s amazing to see these numbers presented on an actual map.
Plus, the NFL Fan Map also allows you to get an even deeper insight into the state of the NFL. It’s not just about which team is the most popular in each state. You can also filter the map to get an analysis of the league as a whole. By clicking on certain buttons, you can get a breakdown of things like the most popular teams in each region, or see which teams have the most passionate fan bases. It’s really fascinating stuff.
As a die hard NFL fan, I’m all about keeping up with the latest stats and news. Of course, the NFL Fan Map is just one of the many resources out there to get an in-depth look at the state of the league. That said, it’s one of the most comprehensive and visually appealing ways to get a real-time snapshot of the NFL.

I think that the NFL Fan Map is a great resource for any NFL fan and I would definitely recommend checking it out. With this awesome tool, we can all finally get a better look at the state of the NFL.
The second part of my NFL Fan Map exploration was discovering the trends behind the map. It was incredibly interesting to learn that the dominant trend points towards a preference for intra-division team fandom. I was surprised to learn that roughly three-quarters of NFL fans are devoted to teams within the division they’re located in. This made it easier for me to understand why teams such as the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Redskins have dominated the NFL for such a long time─ they have dedicated fan bases that have been with the team for generations.
It was also interesting to learn that the Southeast is the most devoted NFL division, with four of the five states most devoted to their local team. There, the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New Orleans Saints have a tremendous amount of passionate support. This trend extended to other parts of the country as well, like the Midwest, which is home to some of the most loyal NFL fans in the country, particularly in states like Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
The NFL Fan Map also provided intriguing insights when it comes to the internet’s presence in football fandom. It turns out that the internet penetration in football fandom has grown significantly over the past decade. This is largely due to the popularity of sports-focused networks and websites like NFL Network and NFL.com. On such sites, NFL fans can access real-time stats and information about their teams and players, as well as participate in interactive discussions with other fans.
Finally, the NFL Fan Map is also a great resource for big sports events. Fans in different state friendships can see quickly which teams are popular in which areas and adjust accordingly. This will make it easier for people to plan travel and make sure they can attend games if they want to. It’s amazing to think you can plan a trip based solely on where your fan base is located.
