I had heard about the national football league (NFL) and its famous coaches, but never really considered that there could be any female coaches. But this week, when I was watching the news I saw an overweight, middle-aged woman, standing on the sidelines of a football field, with a clipboard in her hands. I was intrigued and immediately thought, “Is there a female coach in the NFL?”
The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. If men are capable of being great coaches for NFL teams, why wouldn’t women be able to do the same? After doing some research, I found out that the answer was a resounding yes! There is indeed a female coach in the NFL.
Her name is Kathryn Smith and she is currently employed by the Buffalo Bills as their special teams quality control coach – making her the first female coach in NFL history. She’s a trailblazer, blazing the path for the future and inspiring the young women across the country that they can reach any goal they set for themselves.
Although she is only a few years into her NFL coaching career, Smith has already made an impressive impact. She is a part of an all-female staff of coaches introducing a more diverse team of riders and players to the NFL. She brings a different perspective and knowledge base to the field – one that has been previously absent.
I am truly inspired by Smith and her incredible journey. It’s not just about how she’s made history by becoming the first female coach in the NFL. It’s about how she set her mind to her goal, worked hard, and ultimately achieved it.
I’m sure Smith would tell aspiring NFL coaches to never give up, no matter what gender they are. Every football team needs a great set of coaches and Smith has shown that women can indeed be part of the team.
Now when I watch football on TV, I always try to spot Smith on the sidelines. It’s amazing to know that a woman made history and to see how far she’s come. Smith gives me hope that anything is possible.
Seeing a female coach in the NFL brings me a sense of pride. It shows that our society is slowly but surely becoming more accepting of female coaches. And there is no doubt in my mind that Smith isn’t the last female coach to join the NFL.
I’m sure there are plenty of other inspiring female NFL coaches out there. Just waiting for their chance to make the big leagues. Women like Smith are an inspiration to young girls everywhere and I’m just so glad that she’s made a name for herself in the NFL.
