So, I got a text from my buddy texting me about the big news. He asked if I had heard the news about NFL rescheduling the Bills Bengals game. I was a little confused at first but then he explained what had happened. Apparently, the NFL had moved the game from week two to week 13. As soon as I heard this, I knew this was going to be a big deal.
I’m a fan of both teams and I know they’ve had a great rivalry over the years, so this was going to be an interesting situation. I had been waiting for this game for months and it was going to be a huge upset if the game was moved. I was feeling a mix of emotions, but mostly confusion.
The NFL moved the game due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic. The league wanted to be safe and minimize any potential for another outbreak. This was a good decision, but it still felt like a letdown. It was hard to accept that I wouldn’t get to see the game between these two teams.
I knew there had been a lot of talk about canceling the game, but I was hoping it would be possible to play the game as originally scheduled. I understand that safety concerns come first but it was still really disappointing. I don’t like the idea of the game being moved, so I’m glad the NFL is doing what it can to make the game happen.
My initial reaction was mostly frustration but I’m still hopeful that the game will be able to go on as planned. I’m figuring that the NFL rescheduling could mean they are doing all they can to make the game happen. For now, I’m just excited to see the Bills and Bengals back on the field.
To give myself some hope, I’m imagining how amazing the game will be if it is able to take place. I’m sure everyone in western New York will be wearing their jerseys and screaming for the team they love, even if it’s only a few weeks later than originally planned.
Now, I need to stay positive and wait and see what the NFL’s decision will be. Until then, I’m just counting down the days until the game and hoping for the best!
