It’s officially NFL season! It doesn’t matter if you’re a Dolphins fan, a Colts fan, or a Patriots fan, it’s sure to be an exciting 2020 season. You know what’s even more exciting? Counting down the days until NFL season officially starts!
As a die-hard Cowboys fan, I’m already counting down the days. I mean, the Cowboys had an amazing 2019 season, so there’s really nothing better than getting to watch your favorite team every Sunday. I can almost taste the smell of the turf on my fingertips and it’s only been a few days since the season ended.
Even though there are only less than a hundred days until the new season, I’m already feeling the countdown blues. The anticipation for the season is almost overwhelming. It’s like a black wave engulfing me and it makes me contemplate if I’m ready for whatever the 2020 season has in store. Dare I say...I’m more than ready!
My dream of the Cowboys making it to the Super Bowl is becoming a bit more of a reality every single day. I’m already hyped and I can’t even imagine what I’ll be feeling a few weeks out. I think I’m going to end up a nervous wreck.
To make the days go by quicker, I’m doing some research on which players the Cowboys will pick up in the offseason. I’m guessing they will go for a star defensive tackle to help improve their already-solid defense. Regardless of what happens, I can hardly wait for the new season to start.
I’m hoping that the anticipation stays at a high and the excitement only grows bigger for the next few months. However, it’s inevitable that it will slow down eventually and the countdown will become something that I will look forward to with a bit less enthusiasm. I’m sure that when the Cowboys start playing again, I’ll be hooked all over again.
The weird thing is, no one can tell the future. The Cowboys could crash and burn or they could reach the highest heights. And I’ll be right there with them on that journey. Until then, there’s still plenty of days left until the season starts and I’m crossing every single one off the calendar with a big smile on my face.
As the days pass by, I’m getting more and more anxious. It’s like I’m a kid in a candy store. Every new piece of information I hear excites me even more and I just can’t wait. I want to call all my friends over and watch the Cowboys, but I know that’s not gonna happen for a few more weeks.
At this point, I’m daydreaming about what the Cowboys could become if the season turns out the way I hope it does. The offense will be unstoppable and the defense will be too tough to break. Those dreams are enough to keep me going until the season starts.
As I keep waiting, I’m not just counting down the days until NFL season starts. I’m also counting down the days until I can feel the burning passion of fanhood again. All I know is, the countdown is far from over and I’m not stopping for anything. When the new season begins, I will be ready!
