Then there’s Adam Vinatieri, a player worthy of the nickname “The Iceman”.​ He won three Super Bowls with the Patriots and earned the last-minute field goal for two of them.​ It’s amazing to think that this one player is responsible for some of the most iconic moments in NFL history.​

I’m also in awe of the statues of John Hannah on the campus of the University of Alabama and of Pat Patriot at Gillette Stadium.​ Hannah was the first Patriot inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Pat Patriot is the team’s mascot.​ It’s a fitting tribute to the team and its legacy.​

But, there’s still so much more to the New England Patriots’ greatness.​ In the late 90s and early 2000s, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady formed a legendary partnership that resulted in five more Lombardi Trophies for the team.​ No other team in the NFL has been more successful during this time.​

The number of Patriots who have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame continues to grow every year, and it’s truly remarkable.​ From Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Randy Moss to Art Shell, Andre Tippett and Adam Vinatieri, these players are true legends in their own right.​ From their contributions to the game to the awe-inspiring statues, the New England Patriots’ legacy has been further immortalized in the Hall of Fame.​

Nick Barnett is yet another NFL player from Wisconsin who continues to inspire many young footballers today.​ Nick was born in California and raised in Wisconsin where he started his football career playing college football at the University of Oregon.​ After showcasing his physicality and tenacity in college football, Nick was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 2003 NFL draft.​ During his seven year NFL career, he recorded 1000+ tackles and 20 interceptions.​

It’s players like Aaron Rodgers, J.​J.​ Watt and Nick Barnett who continue to be role models for many young footballers in Wisconsin and everywhere in the world.​ Through their hard work and passion for the game, they have shown us that anything is possible through dedication and determination.​ Plus, watching Aaron and J.​J.​ continue to be incredible role models and excellent players on the field, helps a lot of Wisconsin natives to continue dreaming about making it to the NFL someday.​

The state of Wisconsin has a long and successful history when it comes to producing NFL players, coaches, and teams.​ Even today, there is a proud tradition of players from Wisconsin succeeding at every level, from the junior leagues all the way up to the NFL.​ Players like Melvin Gordon, Montee Ball, Clay Matthews, and Russell Wilson are just a few of the current NFL players who proudly represent their state.​

It’s crazy to think that only 12 of the 32 NFL teams have won a Super Bowl ring.​ That’s a measly 37.​5%! As a fan since I was a kid, I just can’t help but be amazed at the idea that the majority of NFL teams haven’t got close to winning the big game.​

It’s not that teams like the Panthers, Falcons, Bengals, and Browns never win their division or don’t get to the playoffs.​ They do, but that’s as far as it goes.​ Every year they go in with the hope that this time they’ll get to the playoffs but then, like so many times before, they fall short.​ It’s really heartbreaking to watch.​

But I can also see why this is the case.​ There are just so many factors that have to align perfectly for a team to win the Super Bowl.​ They have to have good coaching, an amazing quarterback, reliable defensive players, and, most importantly, a little bit of luck.​ It’s like life, only the strongest long-term plans succeed.​

And that’s why the teams that do have Super Bowl rings are held in such high regard.​ Teams like the Packers, Steelers, and Patriots have achieved their success through solid and consistent effort over the years.​ They worked hard for their goals and achieved them when the pressure was at its highest.​

It really shows you what it takes to be a successful NFL team and win a Super Bowl ring.​ But even with that, every now and then we get a surprise winner like the Buccaneers or even the Eagles with that 2017-all time great-team.​ It’s just a reminder of how unpredictable and exciting football is, and that anything can happen on any given Sunday.​

And what about the teams that have been to the Super Bowl but never won it? Teams like the Vikings, Bills, and Titans.​ It’s really a shame to see powerful teams, with superstars like Adrian Peterson, Josh Allen, and Derrick Henry, make it all the way to the big stage and fall short.​ They deserve so much more glory for all they’ve done for their respective franchises.​

So, it’s clearly evident that in the NFL anything can happen.​ One team can have one season of glory and go on to win a Super Bowl, like the Buccaneers, while teams like the Eagles and Ravens have become perennial contenders because of their perseverence.​ Every team has the opportunity to create something solid and memorable, and that’s why it’s really worth getting behind your favorite team everytime a new season starts.​ Who knows, this year could be their year.​
