As a friend of mine, you must have heard of the famous NFL coach brothers – Peyton and Eli Manning.​ It blew my mind when I found out that their father was an NFL quarterback, making them the only three members of a family to be part of major American Football history.​ Having two pro footballers as brothers just seems like a dream come true.​

I remember when they were playing in college, and everyone was rooting for them.​ It was incredible watching two brothers compete in the same professional sport and even more amazing that they have both made it to the big leagues.​ There were so many comparisons made between them by the public that it was almost like a game in itself.​

One thing that made this even more interesting is that we all got to see them play in the same style thanks to their shared upbringing.​ The way they directed their teams, ran their offenses, and managed their teams was entirely similar.​ It was really something special to witness this kind of brotherly bond in a sport like football.​

At the height of their respective careers, Peyton and Eli Manning both won a Super Bowl.​ Peyton competed in a total of four while Eli only competed in two, but neither outcome mattered as both had the opportunity to make history.​

There’s something really heartwarming about having two brothers play in such a highly competitive sport, and it was admirable to watch them work together and support each other as teammates.​ One thing I really admired about them was their ability to balance their professional lives with their brotherly bond.​

What’s truly inspiring about the two of them is that the NFL has been a family tradition.​ Not only did both of them follow in their father’s footsteps, but their sons have expressed a genuine interest in football as well.​ It’s really special how they were able to keep the football legacy alive and pass it down to their sons.​

The Manning brothers have achieved so much throughout their respective careers.​ Even though they now reside in different parts of the country, their legacy and commitment to the NFL will live on through their sons.​ It’s really incredible to think that something that started with their father has now become a tradition within the family.​

I’m proud of the Manning brothers for so many reasons, including what they achieved as athletes, their commitment to family, and their passion for the game of football.​ Despite having different career paths, they both have an incredible story and it will surely continue to inspire generations to come.​

I’m really pumped for the NFL schedule release this year! It feels like it’s been an eternity since the end of last season and that we’ve been eagerly waiting for our team’s 2020 schedule forever.​ Thankfully, the NFL does a great job of creating anticipation for the release each year.​

It’s an odd sensation that you can always reach a conclusion regardless of the result.​ Having experienced my fair share of ties in playoffs, I can say for certain it’s one of the craziest things ever to witness.​

The passion of the playoff run is only matched by the championship game.​ All of the teams have come this far, they have trained, worked together and gambled for a taste of that sweet victory.​ If there is and one thing I’ve learned, it’s that in the end, it always comes down to who is mentally and physically strongest and most prepared.​

The off-season may bring the biggest dreams and biggest hopes to the field, but it will always be the playoffs that brings out the most heroic performances.​ Each week new plays, new rivalries and new hopes gets born, making every game more thrilling than the last.​ Every year the stage gets bigger and the competition more intense.​

The playoffs really hit home for me every year.​ This is the part where stories are born and become part of sports’ history.​ Each game brings its own unique story and makes the next game even more exciting to watch.​ I love that each game, each team, has the chance to make history and be remembered for generations to come.​

How far the playoff race goes in the NFL can surprise even the most seasoned fan.​ Every single game is huge and winning is crucial.​ It’s this close, pull-through wins and late-game heroics that really get the blood pumping.​ Heroes can be found everywhere, from the running back that scores the game-winning touchdown or the defensive back who comes up with the clutch interception in the last minute.​

Wins in the playoffs are earned not gifted.​ A team will need each and every player to make plays in order to earn the right to be called champions.​ It’s the ultimate test for every single athlete and team because its winner take all.​ One single loss can mean the end of the season, season dreams, and ambitions.​

The playoffs are like the theater of sports because of the emotional and physical toll in every single game.​ It’s a journey that’s soon forgotten yet something that’s never regretted.​ Ultimately, it’s heart and patience that carries a team through and brings the fans a victory they can hold forever.​

So there I was, having a grand ol’ time discussing the biggest-ever NFL blowout, when it dawned on me that I knew very little about the record-high one.​ And so, my friend, my mission to find out more began, and this is what I came to discover:

Firstly, the record for the biggest scoring difference in a single NFL game is a whopping 62 points! The San Francisco 49’ers clobbered the Denver Broncos to the tune of 55-10 back in 1990.​ It was quite the spectacle.​ There were right around 75,000 people in attendance, and they watched their 49’ers run wild and rack up over 500 total yards.​ Wowzers!

The second-biggest scoring margin occurred in 1969 when the Dallas Cowboys took on the Philadelphia Eagles.​ It was a stirring battle on the makeshift field, and it ended with a score of 48-0.​ This game showed the prowess and utter dominance of the Cowboys, and it was certainly more of a massacre than a football match.​

Thirdly, the highest scoring differential of a shutout happened in 1977, when the Los Angeles Rams made mincemeat out of the Atlanta Falcons to the tune of (get this!) 56-0.​ It was an absolute snooze-fest, and the crowd of fans supported their Rams ’til the bitter end.​

Not to be outdone, the fourth-largest scoring margin happened a mere three years later in 1980, when the Detroit Lions trashed the Minnesota Vikings with a score of 44-7.​ The Lions were a force to be reckoned with, and their offense notched an impressive 436 total yards while their defense worked overtime.​

Finally, the fifth-most lopsided victory was yet another massacre, this time between the then-Baltimore Colts and Dallas Cowboys back in 1962.​ Despite their valiant efforts, the Cowboys ultimately had to settle for defeat, 34-0.​

And there have, of course, been many nail-biters over the years—but none of them quite compare to the memorable blowouts that we talked about.​ What an interesting piece of NFL history, wouldn’t you agree?

In addition to the biggest scoring differences in a single NFL game, I also looked into the teams who have consistently won the highest number of blowouts.​ Of course, the New England Patriots come to mind (dominated by Bill Belichick and Tom Brady) with 59 wins, followed by the Denver Broncos at 56 wins, and then the San Francisco 49ers rounding out the top three with 54 wins.​

Next, I looked for the most lopsided losses of all time.​ In this case, the hapless Atlanta Falcons surprisingly made the list, clocking in with 37 lopsided defeats in their long and tumultuous time in the NFL.​ In second place, we have the Arizona Cardinals at 36 losses, and lastly, not far behind, the Cincinnati Bengals with 35 big losses.​

But why is it that some teams succeed with blowouts more than others? One possible explanation why is superior coaching.​ A good coach can pin-point an opponent’s weaknesses, recognize the field positions and come up with the perfect game-plan.​ A great coach can then combine that with an effective lineup and execution to generate a blowout.​

Then there’s the matter of the quarterbacks, those legendary players, and leaders that can inspire their teammates and the fans alike.​ The greatest quarterbacks in NFL history have leadership skills, vision and poise.​ Together with a good coach, they can become a game-winning combination!

Finally, let’s not forget the offensive lines—the unsung heroes of the gridiron! With experience and strength, they can help create offensive plays and cover the ball-carrier, thus allowing for lopsided wins.​ So you see, my friend, it takes a whole lot of talent and some luck to create a blowout win!

Wow it’s NFL week 9! I can’t believe we’re already this far into the season, time sure flies when you’re having fun watching football! So many great matchups this week, for sure.​ Patriots vs Ravens, their defense being one of the top 2 in the league this season, which should be an incredible game! Dolphins against the Colts, the Colts missing 3 of their starting offensive linemen would be the deciding factor.​ And of course, my beloved Seahawks, playing against the Buccaneers to try and win the game and stay on top of the NFC west.​

I remember when I was younger, I used to look forward to week 9 every season so excited to see all the different teams clashing on one day.​ That feeling of anticipation has never gone away and I love the tradition that has been carried out through the years.​ Seeing the same teams play the same opponents, just with a new twist, is always exciting.​ Even though the names change through the years the excitement remains the same.​

This year is no exception due to all the great matchups that are planned for the Sunday Night Football games.​ The Chiefs vs the Rams, a potential Super Bowl preview, is always the game everyone has been talking about.​ But in addition to that, the Cardinals playing against the 49ers should be a great one.​ With the Cardinals being 4-3 and the 49ers being undefeated (7-0), this game should be a nail biter.​

The highlight of the day for me is when the Seahawks take the field.​ I’ve been a Seahawks fan my entire life and the excitement during their games makes me feel like a kid again.​ Even though I may not be at the stadium in person, I can still feel the excitement and anticipation as I watch them play.​ Seeing how far this team has come over the years has made me so proud of being a Seahawks fan.​

This week’s games have a lot of story lines and hype, which makes the entire season that much more exciting.​ Although we know each team’s probability of making it to the Super Bowl, the playoffs are far from over and the final team to make it there is yet to be seen.​ Could it be the Ravens? The Patriots? Or maybe the Seahawks will take the crown? One thing’s for sure, week 9 of the NFL will have us all on the edge of our seats!
