I’m sure you’ve probably heard that there are quite a few NFL teams that still haven’t played each other. it’s both amazing and at the same time crazy to think about. I mean really, there are 32 teams in the league and there’s been nearly a hundred years of play, but still some teams have yet to match up.
It’s hard to imagine that there could possibly be any teams that hadn’t faced off at least once—especially when you think about how fast the league changes each year, and how many teams have come and gone from the league throughout its’ existence. it’s mind-boggling to think about!
I did a little research on the topic, and I was pretty surprised to learn that there are still six teams that haven’t met on the gridiron—Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and the Washington Redskins. How crazy is that?!
When you look at the distances between the teams, it makes even more sense why they haven’t encountered each other in recent times—they are all relatively far apart from one another. I mean, the furthest two teams apart are the Los Angeles Chargers and the Miami Dolphins—which are almost 3000 miles away from one another!
This revelation really made me consider the current landscape of the NFL and how it’s evolved since its inception. I can only imagine what it must have been like over a hundred years ago when traveling between cities was much longer and difficult. It’s amazing that in all these years since the first ever NFL matchup that there are still some teams that haven’t played.
It’s also interesting to think about which matchups we’d like to see if these teams ever were to finally match up with one another. I’d love to see the Broncos—an iconic team with a highly competitive mindset—square off with the Bengals—who always seem to have extraordinary talent, even when their record isn’t the best.
Then there’s the Cardinals and Redskins. Two teams with loads of history, both with their own set of legends and legacies. On paper, it’s almost too close to call!
Finally, the Chargers and Dolphins. The two teams have faced off 16 times in the past, but only twice in the past 20 years. It’d be great to witness these two teams finally meet on the field again.
I can only imagine how exhilarating these matchups would be, especially after all this time. It’s hard to even think about the anticipation and excitement that would build up leading to the game.
What I think we can all agree on is that these matchups would be something special. Not only for the fans that have been around for a while, but for the new fans that may not even remember a time when the teams hadn’t faced off yet.
The league is ever-changing, and the playoffs this year could produce some unexpected results that could see the teams finally meet. Despite all the adversity that the NFL has faced in the past year, it could also be the perfect time for some of these teams to face off for the first time
It’d be interesting to see the various strategies the teams would develop to get a win, while also battling against the potential element of surprise. Watching some of these squads go head-to-head would be intense, to say the least. It would be great to see the players compete against each other, and to witness the passion and emotion in the games.
I’m sure there’d be a lot of excitement for these games. Super Bowl ads have already started being released, featuring some of the teams that haven’t matched up yet. Just imagine the energy and atmosphere that these games could bring if the superstars of the NFL face off for the first time!
It’s sad to think that some of these teams may never match up in person. I mean, who knows what the league will look like in the years to come, or if the teams will even have the opportunity to meet in the future. It’s a bit of a shame when you think about it, but I guess we can all appreciate the history behind it!
We can all agree though that these teams have never met before and the fanbase for each team would be excited to see the teams take the field. It would be fun to imagine the matchup playing out, as it could potentially be the first of many iconic matchups to come.
It’d also be interesting to see how the teams would respond to the added pressure of an intense rivalry atmosphere if they eventually do decide to meet. It’ll be great to see some of the strategies and plays that the teams use to try and get an edge over the other. It could also be an opportunity for both teams to add to their respective legacies with an epic match up.
This could be the beginning of an amazing rivalry that could be talked and written about for years to come. Ultimately, it’s impossible to know what will happen. But one thing is certain: A showdown between two NFL teams that have never met before will be something special.
