When the 1989 NFL Draft came around, I was so excited—it was the year I was finally going to be in the running to be drafted! There had been so much speculation about the players who were going to be taken, and I was determined to be one of them.
I was so nervous on the day of the draft. I had to sit and wait for a call from a team. All the anticipation was overwhelming! I felt like I was going to burst—I was so eager to get out there and prove myself.
The one thing I was certain of was that I wanted to be on the team that would be the best fit for me. I knew that if I chose wisely, I’d have a better chance of having a satisfying career. I wanted to make sure I did my research and find out all I could about the teams before making a decision.
The day of the draft finally came and went. I got the call that I had been hoping for, and it was one of the best moments of my life. It felt like a dream come true. When all was said and done, I was selected by the Miami Dolphins.
I could not have been happier! I had done everything in my power to put myself in a position to be successful, and all of it had paid off. Now I just had to focus on performing and helping my team win games.
Getting drafted was an amazing experience for me. I was now part of a select group of talented players, and I was more determined than ever to make the most of it. I was so excited for the season to start, and I couldn’t wait to get out on the field and show everyone what I could do.
I had worked hard to reach this point, and I was ready for the challenge of taking my game to the next level. I knew that I had to put in the extra effort and give my all in order to make it in the NFL. I was determined to prove myself and make a name for myself.
