Arena Football is a fun and exciting sport to watch and play. The players demonstrate incredible heart, hustle and determination to make it to the National Football League (NFL). I’ve seen some of these amazing athletes produce top-notch performances but do arena football players make it to the NFL?
As far as I know, there are many professional players who have made it from arena football leagues to the NFL. These men have taken the risk and made the transition from the indoor football league to the NFL successfully. The most recent example is Russell Wilson, the quarterback who was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks and led them to a Super Bowl victory.
Players often take their football talents to the Canadian Football League and make a good living playing there. Some make it to the NFL, but it’s not as common because the rules and style of play are significantly different. While the CFL allows for a more wide-open brand of football, the NFL focuses on a more efficient passing game and hard-nosed running attack.
Having said that, some arena football players have made it to the NFL. They have taken a gutsy leap of faith by going for their dreams and it’s inspiring to watch their hard work and dedication pay off. For example, Charlie Batch, a former Pittsburgh Steeler, was an arena football regular before making it to the NFL. Batch was a part of the Pittsburgh Gladiators in the during the 90s before catching on with the Atlanta Falcons.
It’s not easy for arena football players to make it to the NFL since the competition is stiff, but it’s not impossible. I mean look at Wilson, he transitioned out of the indoor league and took a risk that paid off! He’s now an NFL Super Bowl Champion and the Dallas Desperadoes regular Joe Hills is in the league as well.
Despite the odds, these brave players forge ahead and make it happen for themselves. It’s a challenging process, but when it works out, they just might be the first one to make it to the NFL. For instance, Reggie Hall of the Philadelphia Soul became the first player from an indoor football league to get an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine.
The key to making it to the NFL from arena football is to capitalize on every opportunity that comes your way. You have to be mentally prepared, work hard, take advantage of exposures and stay focused on the goal ahead. Preparation is key and so is the commitment to giving your best.
Of course, not all arena players make it to the NFL, but the key is believing in yourself and understanding the potential. It’s not easy, but nothing worth having comes easy. There are going to be obstacles along the way, but any obstacle can be overcome with the right attitude and enough perseverance. Every day, more and more players are taking the leap of faith and making it to the NFL.
At the end of the day, hard work and dedication are the driving forces behind these players making it to the NFL. Obviously, if a player has the talent and the dedication then he has a chance of making it, that’s what makes it an even more rewarding transition. It’s not all about the talent, it’s about the drive, perseverance, and the desire to make it to the top.
And those are just a few of the stories that have come out of the arena football scene. Despite the odds, there are a few who have taken a risk and made it to the NFL. I mean, it’s not an easy task but if you have the talent and dedication, you can make it happen. All you have to do is take the opportunity and run with it. You never know what might come out of it!
