As I sit here thinking about Chris Smith, I can’t help but be filled with sadness. You know how he always lit up the room and made everything more enjoyable? That was Chris for you. Chris Smith was an NFL player who passed away in October of 2020 due to a cardiac arrest. This tragic news shook the entire sports community and I’m still trying to process it.
Chris had become a beloved household name in the NFL. He was an exemplary athlete and an even better human being. He was always generous, kind and super friendly. Never missing an opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face, Chris was the life of every party.
Unfortunately, on October 1, 2020, Chris collapsed during a practice session due to a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital. The medical team did their best but he unfortunately could not be saved and died the same day. The news of his passing spread like wildfire and stunned everyone.
I remember when his wife came on television to announce the news. It was so painful to see her in such agony. I felt my heart breaking for her and their kids. His wife said that he had no history of any cardiac illness and that he had been visiting the cardiologist every 6 months for checkups, so this sudden passing was truly devastating for her and all of us.
Chris had achieved so much in his life and was continuing to soar higher. His death was a loss for the NFL community, as he had such a strong knack for the game. He was always so passionate about the game and so inspired to help others. His fans, friends and family were devastated and continue to mourn him.
I remember when Chris had first made the team. I recalled how excited he was about the prospect of representing us at the NFL. He worked so hard his entire life for this moment and achieved it, too. His death is a big loss for the NFL community.
He was a great leader, mentor and a friend. His incredible work ethics and enthusiasm always helped motivate everyone. He was always striving to do the right thing. He was so ambitious, which is why his disappearance has left such an immense void in our hearts.
At times like these, it’s really hard to come to terms with the fact that he is no more. He was gone way too soon. I guess all we can really do is take solace in knowing that Chris was doing what he loved and remember him as this warm, full-of-life football genius.
I recently read a documentary on Chris’s life and it made me realize why his death was so sudden. Although he was under constant scrutiny in the medical team, he was somehow able to evade it and still play for the NFL. But it seems the toil of his constant hard work finally took its toll, leading to this untimely demise.
I also read about his wife and their kids, and the debates happening over the medical negligence that led his death. But as of now, no one can figure out the cause and the family is still left with a million questions and no answers in sight.
It’s been a few months now and Chris Smith’s death is still shrouded in mystery. What’s even more tragic is that maybe someone else can’t go through the same fate if this is solved. I’m really hoping they get answers and Chris finally gets the justice he deserves.
Meanwhile, the NFL community, his friends and family are still mourning his death. His career was cut short, but the memories remain forever. His fight for justice and his desire to always put others before himself will continue to be remembered. He was a true inspiration and continues to be remembered every day.
I had the privilege of witnessing Chris Smith play. I remember the time when I took my son and daughter to see him play. His presence in the stadium was huge and the atmosphere was electric. He will always remain in our hearts.
